The ITU Personal Pages Server

The ITU TIES web servers are UNIX based machines. This choice has been made for security, flexibility, and performance. The web server software is Apache.

The main page of your website is a file named index.htm or index.html. The HTML in this file is displayed if someone goes to http://people.itu.int/~YOUR_LOGIN

Modifying Your Webpage

You can create, modify and add to your webpage anytime. Our server supports FTP, Telnet and Microsoft FrontPage updating procedures.

Using FTP

To change your page via FTP, you will need to ftp non-anonymously to ties.itu.int

Download an FTP Client for your system, install it. Read the documentation.  Then use your ftp client to connect to the TIES Personal Pages Server.  Use the following settings to configure your FTP client

Host Name:
ties.itu.int
User Name: Your TIES login
Password: Your TIES password.

Once you are connected, choose the directory public_html.

You are now in your webpage directory (public_html) and can drag and drop files into it! The main file used for your webpage is called index.html. This file will be shown when you go to http://people.itu.int/~yourlogin
